About the Artist
Arbe was born in Yerevan, Armenia, seemingly with art in his blood. His father was a distinguished artist; his mother, a music teacher. His first exhibition was held when he was 12 years old. He graduated from university with the highest art degree offered, and he became a member in the exclusive Young Artists Union of the USSR.
Arbe moved to the United States in 1984, but it was not an easy life. Poverty was constantly knocking at his door. Throughout it all, however, he had faith that his artistic life would flourish. And by 1989, he had gained a clientele large enough to allow him to paint full time.
Today, Arbe is considered one of the most interesting and collectible artists of our time.
